Instagram Is The Place To Be For Generation Z
Marketing your goods and services to Generation Z, people born between the mid-90s and the early 2000s? Then you’d better target your efforts towards Instagram more than other social media channels, since this is apparently where they can be found.
A new study from global intelligence platform Streetbees has just revealed that – in the UK, at least – this demographic prefers this particular platform above Facebook, with more people saying they’re using the latter less now than they were a year ago, Net Imperative reports.
However, that’s not to say that you shouldn’t focus on Facebook as well, since 89 per cent of those aged between 18 and 25 did admit that they still check the social media site at least once a day.
“Our research shows the rapid pace of change in what social media platforms younger generations use. In the UK, Generation Z is migrating away from Facebook, with this shift driven in part by concerns over trust and data security,” co-founder of Streetbees Oliver May was quoted by the news source as saying.
From an international perspective, Facebook is still the preferred site in the US, while in India YouTube was found to be more popular than both Facebook and Instagram.
